LGT Bank Switzerland is seeking a Business Risk Manager (f/m/d) in Zurich, responsible for due diligence queries, risk assessment and controls in onboarding clients. The role requires collaboration with Compliance and frontline teams to balance risk with business growth.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in risk management or compliance at a Swiss bank, with relevant certifications and master’s-level education. Fluency in German and English, plus Spanish or Portuguese, is desired.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess money laundering, reputational and other business risks; prepare written client risk assessments.
• Propose pragmatic, risk-appropriate controls to support compliant client onboarding within regulatory requirements.
• Advise Front on due diligence matters, challenging stakeholders to align risk with business goals.

Business Risk Manager (f/m/d) – 100% Zurich

• Act as the first point of contact for Relationship Managers on due diligence queries during client prospecting and onboarding, fostering clear and constructive collaboration with Compliance.
• Identify and assess money laundering, reputational and other business risks as part of the first line of defence, and prepare written client risk assessments.
• Propose pragmatic, risk-appropriate controls and mitigation measures to support efficient and sustainable client prospecting and onboarding within the applicable regulatory framework.
• Serve as a proactive adviser and sparring partner to the Front on due diligence matters. Constructively challenge and influence internal stakeholders, contributing to the bank’s sustainable and scalable business growth.

Your profile

• 3–5 years of experience as a Business Risk Manager in the first line of defence, with a focus on due diligence, and/or as a Compliance Officer at a Swiss bank, with experience in at least one of the target markets: Latin America, Europe or EAM.
• Higher education, such as a Master’s degree in law or economics, and/or relevant certifications, such as a due diligence (compliance) certification or a sanctions diploma. Knowledge of international markets and the regulatory environment, as well as experience conducting background checks.
• A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to balance risk and commercial considerations, represent the business perspective in risk discussions and translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for the Front in line with the bank’s risk appetite.
• A reliable, responsible and risk-aware personality, with an analytical mindset, strong communication skills and a conscientious, structured working style. Ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative and flexible environment.
• Fluency in German and English, as well as Spanish or Portuguese.
