BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR – APAC / MEIA

THE ROLE
The Business Development Director – APAC / MEIA will own the commercial performance and development of the region, driving sustainable growth, strengthening distribution and elevating the Group's presence across markets.
Acting as the key interface between HQ, Brands, Supply Chain, Marketing, local teams and partners, the role translates Group and Brand strategy into market plans and measurable commercial results.
The position combines business development, distribution strategy, Key Account Management, market coordination and execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial & Business Development
- Own regional sales, margin and sell-out performance, ensuring delivery against annual and monthly targets.
- Develop and execute market commercial plans, including sales targets, distribution priorities, assortment and productivity objectives.
- Identify and develop new markets, strategic partners and high-potential accounts.
- Optimise the existing network through analysis of door productivity, sell-out, assortment and market potential.
- Manage product allocation and inventory in partnership with Supply Chain, with a focus on launches, novelties and stock health.
- Lead monthly business reviews with markets and partners, ensuring clear KPIs, actions and accountability.
- Lead Key Account Management, including senior relationships, negotiations, commercial terms and long-term business plans.
- Support strategic projects including corporate deals, store openings, renovations and relocations.
Regional Coordination & Distribution
- Drive a common commercial vision across APAC / MEIA while respecting local market specificities.
- Ensure consistency in pricing, launches, product introductions, VM and commercial execution.
- Lead the transition of distributor relationships from the Richemont legacy model to Damiani Group standards.
- Manage network development, including openings, closures, relocations and Capex projects.
- Continuously assess opportunities to upgrade, rationalise or selectively expand distribution.
- Build a strong Area community through regular business reviews, knowledge sharing and best-practice exchange.
Brand & Commercial Excellence
- Ensure distribution and customer touchpoints consistently meet Damiani Group luxury standards.
- Drive VM, brand presentation, product visibility and storytelling in partnership with Brand and Marketing.
- Coordinate training for local teams and partners across product knowledge, selling techniques and luxury customer experience.
- Identify capability gaps and drive initiatives to improve commercial effectiveness and brand representation.

EXPERIENCE & PROFILE
- 10+ years' experience in luxury, ideally jewellery, watches or high-end consumer goods.
- Proven track record in international business development, wholesale, distribution and/or commercial leadership.
- Strong experience across APAC and/or MEIA and understanding of the regional luxury landscape.
- Experience managing distributors, agents and strategic retail partners, including senior negotiations.
- Strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset, combining strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to influence across organisations without direct reporting lines.
- Strong understanding of luxury positioning, distribution quality, exclusivity and customer experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Pragmatic, collaborative and solution-oriented, comfortable in a lean, fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Languages: Fluent English essential. Additional Asian, Middle Eastern or European languages are an advantage.
