Job summary

Worldline’s Biel/Bienne development office is expanding its Frontoffice team to build next-generation cashless payment features using state-of-the-art technologies. You will join an agile, DevOps environment across Switzerland and Italy, delivering robust, scalable software and owning deployment, monitoring and incident response for core components.

Fluency in English is required; French, German or Italian is a plus.

• Experience with cashless payments is a plus.

• Work in an agile, DevOps, cross-functional squad across Switzerland and Italy.
• Contribute to design, build, test and maintain payment features.

• Own deployment, monitoring and incident response for components.
• Improve performance, scalability and reliability of applications.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate client needs into solutions.

The opportunity

In our development office of Biel/Bienne, our technology addresses challenges of the payment world. Our team provides reliable, robust and creative software solutions to ensure processing of cashless transactions in Europe and beyond. Day-to-day responsibilities

• Agile, DevOps, cross-functional squad, distributed across Switzerland and Italy
• Very committed to quality and operational excellence
• Working on the backbone of the payment services (in Switzerland and international) with applications processing more than 20 million transactions every day
• Design, build, test, and maintain new features for cashless payments with state-of-the-art technologies
• Collaborate with product owners and business engineers to translate the clients’ needs into elegant technical solutions
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code and participate in code reviews
• Own deployment, monitoring, and incident response (3rd level support, on-call duty) for our components
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability and monitoring for our applications
• Contribute to the optimization of our deployment infrastructure and to the future technology roadmap

Who are we looking for

• Higher education in information technology (university degree or equivalent)
• Strong programming proficiency in Jakarta EE with fluency in relational databases and experience with Git, Maven, Quarkus, Docker, Kafka, Linux
• Team player and able break down complex problems and drive solutions
• Proven ability to work under pressure (e.g. major outages)
• Fluent in English. French, German or Italian is a plus
• Mobile working within Switzerland and flexible working time models
