Harmattan AI is seeking a Flight Guidance & Motion Planning Engineer to own motion planning, trajectory generation and guidance laws for high-speed autonomous flight. The role is based in Lausanne, Paris, or Zurich, with interfaces to the estimator and perception pipeline.

You will weigh classical and learning-based methods, manage perception latency, and hand references to the control loop, while supporting simulation, SITL, HITL, and Monte Carlo campaigns.

Qualifikationen

• Strong academic background in aerospace, robotics or related STEM field.
• Experience with onboard motion planning, trajectory generation and guidance laws.
• Hands-on control loops with perception outputs, latency handling.
• Exposure to learning-based planning or guidance and simulation-based training.
• Communicates clearly and mentors junior engineers.

Aufgaben

• Motion Planning: Plan dynamically feasible onboard paths with obstacle avoidance and perception-aware planning.
• Trajectory Generation: Convert paths into feasible references within airframe limits.
• Guidance Laws: Design laws for steering along references and holding position.
• Interfaces & Perception Coupling: Manage ego-state inputs and dropout handling.
• Mode & Failsafe Logic: Define behavior across cruise, loiter, approach.
• Flight Test & Diagnosis: Validate in simulation, SITL, HITL and Monte Carlo campaigns.
• Mentorship: Support and coach junior engineers as needed.
