Job summary

VAT Group is seeking a Development Engineer to lead automation and control efforts for R&D test rigs and laboratory systems in Haag, St. Gallen. You will design data acquisition and experiment automation to test gas sensing and control technologies.

Responsibilities include developing high-performance control algorithms and documenting DoE results, while collaborating with VAT’s cross-functional R&D teams and partners. On-site customer support may be required.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in engineering or related field.
• Strong skills in control theory and industrial automation.
• 3+ years in design/implementation of automated testing setups.
• Experience with PLC programming (Beckhoff/Siemens) and industrial protocols.

Responsibilities

• Concept definition and implementation of automation systems for R&D test rigs and laboratory systems.
• Develop data acquisition and experiment automation functions to test gas sensing and control technology.
• Develop advanced control algorithms for high performance gas control systems.
• DoE experiments and documentation in an organized, structured way.
• Collaborate with cross-functional VAT R&D teams and external partners.
• Occasional on-site support of newly developed applications/products at customer sites.
