Job summary

Lonza in Basel Stücki, Switzerland, seeks an Associate Principal Scientist-Bioanalytical Expert to lead analytical lab work for biologics under GMP. You will oversee method transfer/validation and act as the main customer contact.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biotechnology, Analytical Science, Biochemistry, or related Life Science subject.
• Significant work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Min. 3 years of experience with cGMP work.
• Knowledge of several bioanalytical methodologies, including mammalian cell culture, primary cells, cell-based assays, ligand binding assays.
• Prior experience supporting and presenting in audits is desirable.
• Ability to lead complex investigations under GMP.
• Familiarity with electronic documentation systems (ELN, LIMS, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork; ability to manage complexity.
• Proficient written and spoken English; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, review and approve analytical laboratory work for biologics under GMP.
• Manage analytical methods such as cell-based assays and ELISA/LBA.
• Serve as point of contact for customers.
• Handle GMP-compliant documentation and processes.

What You Will Do

• Hold responsibility for planning, review and approval of analytical laboratory work for biologics, including method transfer and validation of potency assays for clinical and commercial products under GMP
• Responsible for analytical methods such as cell-based assays, ELISA/LBA, etc.
• Act as point of contact for customers
• Handle GMP-compliant documentation and processes
• Contribute to scientific field or technique by solving scientific problems within the department including complex investigations under GMP
• Presenting work at scientific conferences or in peer-reviewed publications

What We Are Looking For
