Job summary

Eurofins IES AG, located near Basel, Switzerland, is seeking an Ecotoxicology Laboratory Technician to support the breeding and testing of aquatic organisms in a GLP-regulated environment. The role involves setting up and maintaining breeding programs for algae, Daphnia, Chironomus, Lumbriculus and various fish species, including feeding and reporting results.

You will draft SOPs, calibrate equipment, and work in a dynamic CRO team. English and German fluency are mandatory; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• No academic bachelor’s degree is required.
• A valid certification/license to work with animals LTK1 is mandatory.
• English (fluent) is mandatory, German (fluency) is mandatory, French (asset) is a plus.
• You like working accurately in a strictly regulated environment per SOPs.
• You enjoy delivering results on schedule and reporting deviations when needed.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, maintain and perform breeding of algae, Daphnia, Chironomus, Lumbriculus and fish species.
• Draft/revise SOPs, calibrate equipment, and maintain the laboratory.
• Work with algae, daphnia, chironomus, lumbriculus, and fish across life stages, including eggs.
• Prepare feeds and report breeding progress concisely and timely.
