Job summary

Thomson Reuters Labs is seeking an Applied Science Intern with a passion for machine learning and NLP for a six-month internship in a hybrid setup in Switzerland. You will join a global team of ML/IR experts working on real-world challenges across legal, tax, government, and Reuters News segments.

You will experience the full model development lifecycle, from ideation through testing and deployment, while learning from world-class researchers and engineers and contributing to applied R&D for

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or holding an MSc in ML, NLP, CS or related field, or pursuing a PhD.
• Hands-on NLP/ML experience, including exposure to large language models.
• Proficiency in Python and DL/ML/NLP frameworks and tools.
• Experience designing and evaluating ML/LLM experiments with data-driven mindset.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full model development lifecycle from ideation to deployment.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, NLP specialists, data scientists and product teams across time zones.
• Experiment with new approaches and contribute ideas in information retrieval and ML applications.
