Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Analytical Scientist for Basel on a 2-year contract. The role supports an Analytical R&D environment focusing on development and characterization of innovative drug substances and products.

Strong experience in analytical chemistry, peptides and advanced separation techniques is essential to contribute to projects in Radio Ligand Therapy (RLT). You will develop and optimize analytical methods, characterize substances, and perform hands‑on LC‑MS, UHPLC and UV‑Vis work.

Qualifications

• Requires BSc/MSc/PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related Life Science field.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands‑on experience with LC‑MS, UHPLC and/or UV‑Vis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize analytical methods for drugs and drug substances.
• Characterize drug substances and drug products.
• Work with peptides and radiolabelled compounds.
• Troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation.
• Interpret scientific data and document results.
• Collaborate with international, multidisciplinary project teams.

This is an exciting opportunity for a scientist with strong experience in analytical chemistry, peptides and advanced separation techniques to contribute to projects in Radio Ligand Therapy (RLT).

What you’ll be working on

What we’re looking for

• BSc, MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related Life Science discipline
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Hands‑on experience with LC‑MS, UHPLC and/or UV‑Vis
• Strong knowledge of peptide chemistry
• Experience with chromatography/analytical software
• Understanding of ICH guidelines and analytical testing requirements
