Siemens Mobility seeks an AI Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable AI-powered applications and platform services. You will work hands-on with Generative AI, cloud-native architectures, and modern software practices to deliver production-ready AI capabilities for engineers and customers worldwide.

You will collaborate with product managers, AI specialists, and developers to establish the technical foundation for Siemens' next generation of AI-enabled products and services.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI or comparable field
• Proven experience in software/cloud/AI platform development with production-grade solutions
• Experience deploying Generative AI with LLMs and RAG
• Strong Python backend development and cloud-native deployment on AWS
• English proficiency required; German a plus

As an AI Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in building, deploying, and operating the next generation of AI‑powered engineering solutions. You will work hands‑on with Generative AI, Agentic AI, cloud‑native architectures, and modern software engineering practices to bring innovative capabilities into production.

You will design and implement production‑ready AI solutions on AWS, enabling intelligent engineering workflows, knowledge‑driven applications, and autonomous AI assistants.

Working in a multidisciplinary team of product managers, software architects, AI specialists, and developers, you will help establish the technical foundation for Siemens' next generation of AI‑enabled products.

Your new responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate scalable AI-powered applications and platform services, leveraging Large Language Models and Amazon Web Services as foundational technologies
• Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions by integrating enterprise knowledge sources and implementing advanced AI agents and multi‑agent workflows to automate engineering processes
• Develop and maintain cloud-native infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, and operational excellence
• Collaborate across teams to deliver end‑to‑end AI-powered user experiences, contributing to platform architecture, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement of software engineering practices
• Evaluate, monitor, and optimise AI system quality, reliability, and cost, applying observability principles and implementing guardrails to ensure secure and maintainable platform operations

Your talents and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a comparable field, with several years of relevant professional experience
• Proven experience in software engineering, cloud engineering or AI platform development, including delivering production‑grade software solutions
• Practical expertise in developing Generative AI solutions, deploying Large Language Models (LLMs), and working with Amazon Bedrock and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend service development, with additional experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment patterns on Amazon Web Services
• You demonstrate a pragmatic engineering mindset, a passion for emerging technologies, excellent problem‑solving skills and strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Proficiency in English is required; German language skills are an advantage
