Job summary

avec compétence (avecco) GmbH seeks a seasoned platform engineer to develop and run production-grade backend services with a focus on AI governance and secure deployment. You will combine backend platform work with governance, security, and scalable tooling for AI-enabled applications.

You will craft APIs and SDKs, integrate CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with product teams to ensure robust, observable, and compliant platforms across environments.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience building and operating production-grade backend or platform systems.
• Fluent English; German useful but not required.

• Establish observability and evaluation patterns for cost, latency, quality and reliability.
• Support platform users and shape the platform roadmap.

Job description

You build and operate the platform services and secure infrastructure that enable AI-assisted applications across the organisation. The role combines backend platform engineering with AI governance and security.

Tasks

• Develop and operate platform services for LLM routing, model access and tool registration
• Build the deployment path from repository to running, SSO-protected application
• Engineer secure execution environments with isolated runtimes and vulnerability checks
• Create reusable APIs, SDKs, templates and documentation for product teams
• Contribute to assessment of open-weight models and inference providers
• Establish observability and evaluation patterns for cost, latency, quality and reliability
• Support platform users and shape the platform roadmap

Profile

• Several years of experience building and operating production-grade backend or platform systems
• Strong Python and API engineering skills
• Practical experience with containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and monitoring
• Experience with identity and access management, secrets and network controls
• Genuine interest in AI models, their evaluation and governance
• Fluent English; German useful but not required
