Job summary

Datahouse AG in Zürich is seeking an AI Engineering Practice Lead (80-100%) to connect architecture with delivery and shape the technical direction of the WP Group's products. You will lead the technical implementation of agentic systems across platform and client projects, while staying hands-on and raising the bar for the practice.

You will define reference architectures, supervise engineers, support pre-sales, and ensure high standards for evaluation, security and cost control in production

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software, data or ML engineering with hands-on production experience.
• Proven experience with agentic systems: tool calls, multi-agent orchestration and API integrations.
• Method for evaluating non-deterministic systems.
• Solid retrieval and context engineering knowledge.
• Strong Python and solid API/CI/CD/containers practices.
• Experience guiding teams as tech lead or staff engineer.
• Awareness of data protection and regulatory requirements (Swiss nDSG, EU AI Act).
• Excellent English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build group-wide AI foundations and reusable components.
• Lead agentic engineering in delivery from design to production.
• Make agents production-ready with evaluation, guardrails and security.
• Set engineering standards and reference architectures.
• Lead engineers, review designs, and mentor staff.
• Engage with clients and the group on scoping, estimates & pre-sales.
• Keep the practice current with new models and frameworks.
