Job summary

bexio ag is seeking an AI Engineer to join the AI Feature Team. You will design, develop and deploy scalable AI-enabled features for our SaaS products used by 100,000+ customers. The role emphasizes LLM-based NLP and conversational AI with cross-functional collaboration, strong backend and cloud skills.

You will work in a hybrid setup, contribute to innovation, and stay updated with the latest AI tech. English fluency is required; German is a bonus.

Qualifications

• University degree (or equivalent) in computer science or a related field with a practical track record as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or Fullstack Software Engineer building scalable AI-augmented features.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (GCP), AI platforms (Vertex AI), and modern AI orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Google ADK).
• Proven experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and deploying LLMs for real-world business applications.
• Advanced Python programming skills, experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks, solid backend knowledge (async, REST, testing, security).
• Familiarity with SaaS architectures and API integrations into web applications; container and CI/CD fundamentals (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins).
• Fluent English; German a plus; strong communication and teamwork skills

• You work extensively with large language models (LLMs) to develop solutions for NLP, conversational AI, and generative AI use cases.
• You collaborate with cross-functional teams to design AI-driven features and applications.
• You drive innovation by exploring the latest AI technologies and proposing new approaches for our business challenges.

What you bring to the table

• University degree (or equivalent) in computer science or a related field with a practical track record as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or Fullstack Software Engineer building scalable and secure AI-augmented features (preferred in a SaaS product).
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (GCP), AI platforms (Vertex AI), and modern AI orchestration frameworks ( , Google ADK, LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Proven experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), prompt engineering, and deploying LLMs for real-world business applications.
• Advanced Python programming skills, experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks, solid backend knowledge (async, REST, testing, security), and experience with databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
• Familiarity with SaaS architectures and integrating AI services via APIs into existing web applications (willingness to navigate our Angular/PHP stack is a plus), as well as container and CI/CD fundamentals (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD).
• You are a structured, independent, and quality-focused team player with strong analytical problem-solving skills, eager to stay up to date with the latest AI technologies.
• As a clear communicator, you feel comfortable engaging directly with stakeholders across teams; fluent English is a must, German a big plus.
