Zusammenfassung

San Diego Community College District invites applications for adjunct (part-time/substitute) faculty across its City, Mesa, Miramar campuses and continuing education centers. Assignments are offered on a as-needed basis and not guaranteed current openings.

Successful candidates will be placed in the adjunct pool for fall, spring or summer semesters, and may teach day, evening, weekend, or off-campus classes. Applicants should reside within commuting distance to San Diego.

Qualifikationen

• Degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.
• Master’s degree in Humanities; OR, California Community College Instructor Credential in Humanities; OR, the equivalent.
• Ability to teach humanities courses per established curriculum.

Aufgaben

• Primary duties related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department.
• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
