San Diego Community College District is seeking adjunct (part-time/substitute) faculty for multiple campuses and centers. This pool is used when assignments arise and requires meeting minimum qualifications with flexible day/evening/weekend offerings.

Selected instructors join a large district offering transfer, general education, vocational, and occupational programs. Applicants should live within commuting distance of San Diego and be prepared for variable teaching assignments.

Qualifikationen

• Degrees must be from accredited institutions.
• An Associate degree AND four (4) years of occupational experience in the subject matter area to be taught; OR, Six (6) years of occupational experience; journeyman’s certificate; and 12 semester units of apprenticeship or college coursework.
• If you do not possess the exact degrees, apply for Equivalency and attach required forms.
• Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a recognized credentialing service and submitted online.
• Licenses/Certificates/Credentials: Journeyman Certificate or Verification of Apprenticeship.

Aufgaben

• Primary duties of adjunct faculty relate to curriculum and teaching; assignment split between lecture and lab as determined by the department.
• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Provide quality instruction and foster an environment that encourages discussion.
