Zusammenfassung

Zurich is seeking an Actuary & Senior Data Scientist for its Non-Life EME CoE in Zurich/Oerlikon. You will combine actuarial expertise with advanced analytics to advance reserving and analytics across Europe and the Middle East.

You will lead data-improvement projects, implement AI solutions, and educate actuarial colleagues on AI tools and programming. You will work with senior stakeholders to ensure secure, stable reserving processes and foster innovation.

Qualifikationen

• Strong programming skills in Python and R.
• Experience developing AI solutions.
• Familiarity with Power BI, DAX and Power Query.
• Insurance data-science experience.
• Team-oriented, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are advantageous.

• You support the development, automation, and optimization of our tools, including the use of AI agents to create innovative solutions.
• You act as the point of contact for all IT-related questions in the EME Reserving Centre of Excellence, ensuring technical challenges are efficiently resolved.
• You advise, coordinate, and drive data improvement projects to enhance data accessibility, quality and utilization.
• You review the data transformation and reserving processes with a focus on efficiency, stability and security, and drive continuous improvements.
• You educate actuarial colleagues in the efficient use of AI tools, relevant programming languages, and other data and technology-related capabilities.

What makes you stand out

• Strong programming skills in or R, with experience developing AI solutions and AI agents using Code or similar tools. Familiarity with Power BI, DAX and Power Query will be an advantage.
• Previous experience in a data-science related role in the insurance industry.
• A team-oriented, curious, and positive personality, supported by strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage.
• A Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, actuarial sciences, computer science, or a related field, and either a completed or partly completed actuarial qualification or a willingness to pursue one.
