Zurich Insurance invites a seasoned Actuary & Senior Data Scientist to join the Non-Life EME Reserving Centre of Excellence in Zürich. You will apply AI and automation to improve reserving processes while enabling data-driven decisions across Europe and the Middle East.

You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, drive data quality initiatives, and mentor colleagues in AI, programming languages, and data transformation tools, ensuring secure, scalable analytics across the region.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree required or equivalent in a quantitative field.
• Actuarial qualification or willingness to pursue one is preferred.
• Strong programming and data modelling skills for analytics in insurance.

What you can expect

• You support the development, automation, and optimization of our tools, including the use of AI agents to create innovative solutions.
• You act as the point of contact for all IT‑related questions in the EME Reserving Centre of Excellence, ensuring technical challenges are efficiently resolved.
• You advise, coordinate, and drive data improvement projects to enhance data accessibility, quality and utilization.
• You review the data transformation and reserving processes with a focus on efficiency, stability and security, and drive continuous improvements.
• You educate actuarial colleagues in the efficient use of AI tools, relevant programming languages, and other data and technology‑related capabilities.

What makes you stand out

• Strong programming skills in or R, with experience developing AI solutions and AI agents using Code or similar tools. Familiarity with Power BI, DAX and Power Query will be an advantage.
• Previous experience in a data‑science related role in the insurance industry.
• A team‑oriented, curious, and positive personality, supported by strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship‑building skills.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage.
• A Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, actuarial sciences, computer science, or a related field, and either a completed or partly completed actuarial qualification or a willingness to pursue one.
