You will lead the accounting team, manage month-end/year-end closings, and support VAT declarations while coordinating with auditors and tax advisors.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance, 3+ years in financial services, and fluency in German and English. French is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Oversee accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, payroll) and ensure accurate processing of transactions.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting and cash collection team.
• Ensure VAT declarations and tax compliance; liaise with auditors and tax advisors.
• Manage cash collection processes and communications with customers.
• Provide accounting figures and reporting support for the Switzerland within the DACH cluster.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial, legal and tax regulations. This role involves managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, and supporting the financial planning process.

Key Activities / Accountabilities

• 1. Accounting Operations:
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
  • Implement and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Serve as a cross-functional liaison between Payroll and Accounting, with responsibility for overseeing payment run controls.
  • Responsible for reviewing and managing month-end, year-end bookings and closing processes.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of VAT declarations, ensuring compliance and accuracy through regular controls.
  • Internal control maintenance and improvement
• 2. Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and cash collection team.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
• 3. Statutory compliance and Taxation:
  • Serve as the main contact person in the context of audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filings.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records.
• 4. Cash collection:
  • Reviewing the Preparation of the Cash collection
  • Handle communication with customers
  • Control the Netting of the Cash collection
• 5. Support and Reporting:
  • Support the DACH cluster organization with Accounting figures for Switzerland

• The job position could be based in Basel or Zürich, Switzerland

Educational and / or Training Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in business, accounting, or finance
• Three (3) years or more experience in related business financial service experience (collections, credit, customer service, billing or related field)
• Professional German and English verbal and written is a must. French is a plus.
• Excellent MS Office skills and high affinity for other software and related technologies
• Structured and solution-oriented working style
• Confident demeanour and assertiveness while being service-oriented
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent communication, listening and negotiation skills at all levels
• Strong organizational and time management skills
