Job summary

ABB is seeking a field-oriented Electrical/Electronic Engineer to provide hardware support for UPS and PCS products. The role includes handling tickets, phone, or email inquiries, and contributing to rapid problem resolution with the diagnostic centre team.

You will travel up to 15% to assist customers during complex installations, train local teams, and collaborate with Quality and R&D to drive improvements. Strong English skills are required; Italian or Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• 2–5 years hands-on experience in commissioning, after-sales technical support, and advanced diagnostics of UPS/PCS or energy storage solutions.
• Experience with commissioning/troubleshooting mission-critical applications such as data centers and large facilities is a plus.
• Proficient in written and spoken English (B2 or higher); Italian or Spanish is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide hardware support for ABB UPS and PCS products via ticketing system, phone, or email.
• Participate in 24/7 Diagnostic Centre rotation to ensure timely, cost-effective support.
• Travel up to 15% to support customers, partners, and ABB subsidiaries for complex installations.

As well as providing technical training on UPS and PCS products for customers and service engineers as required.Interacting with other departments, such as Quality and R&D, to address product issues and drive continuous product improvement.Qualifications for the role:A Bachelor's degree, Diploma, or higher academic qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.2 – 5 years of hands-on experience in commissioning, after-sales technical support, and advanced diagnostics of UPS, PCS, or energy storage solutions are beneficial.Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting mission-critical applications such as data centers, high-volume industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure installations would be a plus.Proficiency in both verbal and written English communication (B2 level or higher).
