SPO-CP 24R (Growth) - Child Protection Worker, Rural and Remote Team

Government of British Columbia
Prince George
CAD 50 000 - 80 000
Description du poste

The Team
The Prince George Rural and Remote Team is a dedicated group supporting children and families within the Kwadacha (Fort Ware), Tsay Keh Dene, and Lheidli T’enneh Bands, as well as those from the area who have relocated to Prince George. Known for creative and grassroots social work practices in complex settings, the team collaborates with Indigenous communities, Ministry teams, and partner agencies through a community-centered approach to ensure children grow up in safe, nurturing environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with Indigenous peoples and make a meaningful impact on children's well-being.

The Role
The Child Protection Worker in the Rural and Remote Team assesses and responds to concerns of child abuse and neglect, working closely with children, youth, families, and local agencies to develop safety plans and promote well-being. The work aims to strengthen families and communities, helping them build capacity to protect and nurture children. This role is ideal for those passionate about rural work, valuing cultural and community connections, and practicing from a strengths-based, relationship-centered approach.
