As an Associate Automation Developer, you support the development, testing, and maintenance of automation workflows using approved tools and frameworks as well as assist with simple development tasks such as making minor code adjustments under supervision and ensuring functionality through thorough testing and validation. This role involves close collaboration with business analysts and developers to translate process requirements into automation logic, as well as documenting technical steps and user instructions. The Associate Automation Developer will also participate in troubleshooting existing solutions and contribute to continuous improvement by staying informed on automation best practices.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of automation workflows by leveraging approved tools and frameworks, ensuring solutions align with business requirements and technical standards.
  • Perform code modifications and enhancements under the guidance of senior developers, adhering to structured development practices and established coding conventions.
  • Execute and support basic development tasks, validating outputs through rigorous testing and quality assurance to ensure reliability and accuracy of automation solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather and interpret process requirements, translating them into effective and scalable automation logic.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including configuration details, development steps, and user‑facing instructions to support knowledge sharing and solution sustainability.
  • Assist in the ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of existing automation solutions, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and enhance performance.
  • Stay informed on emerging automation trends and best practices, actively contributing to team knowledge and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing development processes and solution quality.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Internship or academic project experience in software development is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the .NET Framework and Microsoft Technology stack is an asset.
  • Understanding of basic software development principles and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence (self‑awareness, self‑regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills).
  • Has an appetite to continuously evolve and improve, to tackle difficult problems and seek/give constant feedback.
  • Flexible and open, able to work in a highly collaborative and changing environment with the ability to move forward without having all of the answers.
  • Consistently seeks to understand, meet and deliver on customers’ expectations.
  • An acute attention to detail while demonstrating the ability to thrive in high pressure/deadline.
What’s in it for you?
  • A rewarding career path with diverse opportunities for professional development.
  • An organization committed to making a difference in our communities – for you and our customers.
  • A competitive rewards program includes annual bonus, flexible vacation, personal and sick days, and comprehensive benefits that start on your first day.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Allyship – We strive to create an inclusive culture where every employee is empowered to reach their fullest potential, respected for who they are, and are embraced through bias‑free practices and inclusive values across Scotiabank. • Accessibility and Workplace Accommodations – We value the unique skills and experiences every individual brings to the Bank and are committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive and accessible environment for everyone.
