As a Coronial Services Case Manager, you will be based in Hamilton and will work alongside the Coroner. You will be responsible for coordinating all matters referred to the Coroner. Occasionally, you may be called upon to assist with other matters or support other Coroners outside your region, which will require regional travel.

This is a challenging and interesting role that allows you to utilize your administrative experience, people and relationship management skills to a high level, contributing to providing New Zealanders with a first-class Coronial Service.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Gathering inquiry information and reports, both physical and electronic, and presenting this information concisely to the Coroner.
2. Managing large volumes of electronic files while maintaining physical files.
3. Keeping the electronic database (CMS) up to date, complete, and accurate.
4. Liaising with stakeholders and government agencies, including interested parties, Police, medical practitioners, and pathologists.
5. Monitoring and reporting on the activities of the Coronial Services Unit.
6. Supporting your Coroner in arranging and conducting preliminary hearings or inquests.

You should possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with Coroners and handle sensitive situations involving distressed family members. The ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

You will be expected to provide excellent, highly organized case management support to our Coroners and to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful, you should:

1. Be able to access and view graphic coronial material.
2. Have strong relationship management and communication skills, dealing with sensitive information.
3. Understand and appreciate cultural issues, particularly Tikanga Maori.
4. Be highly organized, able to prioritize and multitask independently.
5. Have a strong understanding of the MS Office Suite.

The salary range for this role is between $66,066 and $84,567, depending on skills and experience.
