Job summary

A regional healthcare facility isHiring a Registered Nurse for the Addictions Medicine Consult Service in Timmins, Ontario. The successful candidate will work primarily in the Emergency Department, coordinating care for patients with substance use disorders. A focus on developing innovative care strategies, meeting accreditation standards, and advocating for patients is essential. Applicants must possess a BScN or diploma in nursing, relevant clinical experience, and strong bilingual communication skills. Starting salary is $39.07/hour with benefits, including pension enrollment.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of a diploma or baccalaureate nursing program.
  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum of 5 recent years of addictions experience.
  • Experience in teaching or resource roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in project development and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Support emergency patients with appropriate care plans.
  • Coordinate care with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Develop innovative approaches to addiction care delivery.
  • Act as a clinical resource for staff.
  • Provide leadership in health promotion and education.
