Reporting to the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Worker is primarily responsible for sanitizing/cleaning the facility and production equipment according to the company’s procedures. In addition, he or she has a basic understanding of the equipment and its function along with chemical application awareness, being able to perform basic equipment breakdowns.

1. Follow GMP guidelines and safety practices, including but not limited to: Lock out tag out, chemical handling, proper lifting techniques, and proper PPE;
2. Report food safety issues to the Sanitation Supervisor;
3. Follow Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines as they refer to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required for this position;
4. Perform machine breakdown for cleaning purposes;
5. Disassemble and reassemble production equipment;
6. Manually clean, rinse, foam, scrub and sanitize equipment;
7. Complete daily documentation accurately;
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

1. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred;
2. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices in food production is preferable;
3. Ability to work with others in a fast-paced team environment;
4. Excellent manual dexterity;
5. Strong physical endurance;
6. Ability to effectively understand and follow a variety of guidelines and work procedures (including health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation), alongside prioritizing and organizing workload;
7. Mechanical aptitude is preferable;
8. Knowledge of chemicals used in food plant cleaning and sanitation, in addition to practices and procedures – an asset;
9. Ability to read and follow instructions for chemical usage and cleaning specifications as set by the company;
10. Ability to use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and high and low pressure water hoses;
11. Experience working in a comparable environment (salary according to experience).

20.59 – 27.92/hour
