Job summary

Pagnotta Inc. is seeking a Zoom Boom Operator to work on fast-paced concrete high-rise projects in Western Canada. The role involves operating a Zoomboom under supervision, handling materials, and supporting carpenters and concrete finishers while maintaining safety and quality.

Working conditions include five-day weeks, daytime shifts with some overtime and potential Saturdays. The candidate should be reliable, safety-focused, and able to follow directions in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a Zoomboom or similar crane equipment preferred.
• Ability to follow Foreman/Superintendent instructions and project plans.
• Commitment to safety procedures and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Zoomboom in a team environment under Foreman/Superintendent guidance.
• Load/unload materials and distribute them per project plans and directions.
• Support skilled trades such as carpenters and concrete finishers as needed.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and field safety assessments.
• Contribute to weekly safety meetings and ensure hazards are reported.

We are currently recruiting Zoom Boom Operators to assist with fast-paced, challenging concrete high-rise projects!

Main Functions

To work in a team environment under the direction and guidance of the Foreman or Superintendent.

Operate a Zoomboom in accordance with OH & S legislation and company policies, while ensuring work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.

Duties

• Operate a Zoomboom


• Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans, specifications and directions provided


• Provide assistance to craft workers such as carpenters, concrete finishers


• Participating in daily tool-box talks


• Reviewing and preparing daily Field Level Hazard Assessments


• Participating in weekly safety meetings


• Ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment is used for all tasks


• Advising supervision of unsafe conditions or acts that may be a hazard or danger to self and other workers


• Ensuring work areas are kept clean and free of hazards


• Ensuring tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs


• Reporting all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damage/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents


• Reviewing and participating in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required


• Other tasks and duties as required on the jobsite

Working Conditions

• Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 9 hours per day 44 hours per week regular plus overtime as required, including work on Saturdays as required by sites


• Work day starts at 07:00am


• Two paid 15 minutes breaks and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day


• Exposure to cold/hot weather. Appropriate dress required for weather conditions


• Exposure to noise, dust, pollution


• Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, sharp hand tools


• Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time


• Manual dexterity


• Ability to lift between 11 and 25 kg
