Job description

Description

The YMCA of Southern Interior BC is seeking a Community Program Support Worker (Youth Worker) to support the morning delivery of our Back on Track program.

Back on Track is a YMCA-led three- to five-day intervention program for youth ages 12 to 17 who are suspended, at risk of suspension, or need time away from the traditional school environment to reset. Working in partnership with schools and families, the program provides a positive, restorative experience that helps youth reflect on their choices, develop resilience, strengthen social skills, and successfully reconnect with learning.

As the Community Program Support Worker, you will serve as the first point of contact for participants during morning homework and support sessions. You will welcome youth into the program, build positive and trusting relationships, assist with schoolwork and assignments, and work alongside the Back on Track Facilitator to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment.

Training will be provided. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them recognize their strengths and potential.
