Job summary

White Buffalo Treatment Centre Inc is expanding and seeks one full-time Youth Support Worker to join a dedicated team serving youth. You will collaboratively support clients, help ensure safety, and participate in group activities and cultural programming.

Role requires evening, night, and weekend shifts; valid driver’s license and clear background check; wage starts at $20.46–$24.66 per hour with benefits and training.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or related certificate and experience in social or youth services.
• Ability to de-escalate and support youth with diverse needs.
• Willingness to complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with therapeutic staff to support and supervise youth.
• Maintain safety and security of clients and premises.
• Communicate pertinent information to the team and document appropriately.
• Enforce policies, rules, and guidelines; assist in first aid when needed.
• Facilitate group activities and participate in cultural programming.
• Assist with cleaning duties and other assigned tasks.

White Buffalo Treatment Centre is expanding its services and seeking one (1) additional full-time Youth Support Workers (YSW) to join our growing team dedicated to the treatment and success of youth in our care.

The YSW provides client care services which include: working collaboratively with other therapeutic professionals and team members to support and supervise clients; ensuring client safety and security; communicating pertinent information; ensuring policies, rules, and guidelines are adhered to; providing minor first aid; facilitating group work; intervening in occurrences of inappropriate behavior; supporting cultural diversity by learning and participating in cultural programming, assisting in the cleaning of the Centre; and other duties as assigned.

Minimal Requirements:

• Grade 12 Diploma with 2 years of directly related work experience OR a certificate/ diploma in the field of social work, psychology, education, or human services with 1 year of directly related work experience. A relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Ability to use de-escalation skills.
• A valid class 5 drivers license and a reliable means of getting to work.
• Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check.
• This position requires shift work which includes evenings, nights, and weekends.
