Qualifications

• Theological training or ministry education.
• Experience leading youth ministries or church youth programs.
• Ability to minister in a bilingual church environment (English/Cantonese preferred).
• Demonstrated pastoral care and counseling skills.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the English-speaking youth ministry.
• Coordinate transition of Cantonese-speaking youth to English group.
• Collaborate with children’s and adult ministries for a unified vision.
• Lead youth fellowship, Sunday School, retreats, and worship activities.
• Plan outreach and discipleship initiatives for youth.
• Develop curricula and resources for youth programs.
• Recruit, mentor, and train youth leaders.
• Build relationships and provide pastoral care to youth.
• Oversee annual youth ministry budget.

Port Moody Pacific Grace MB Church is seeking a passionate dedicated Youth Pastor to lead and nurture our youth ministry, guiding students from Grade 7 through college to grow in faith and become disciples of Christ.

As an evangelical church with a strong vision for raising the next generation, we currently serve over 40 teens across our English and Cantonese congregations. We are eager to see our youth ministry continue to flourish as a vibrant community that connects youth to Christ.

Our pastors, Church Board, ministry leaders, and volunteers serve together in a collaborative and supportive ministry environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to strengthen discipleship across both congregations, invest in the next generation, and help shape the future of our church.

About Our Church

Port Moody Pacific Grace MB Church (PMPGMBC) is a bilingual (Cantonese & English), multi-generational evangelical church affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren Conference of British Columbia. Located in the beautiful Tri-Cities area of Metro Vancouver, we are committed to glorifying God by making disciples, serving our neighbours, and sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.

Our church family includes over 300 regular attendees:

• Cantonese Congregation (200+)
• English Congregation (90 adults, youth, and children)
• An integrated Children’s Ministry serving both congregations

Who We’re Looking For

We are prayerfully seeking a youth pastor who demonstrates:

• Theological or related training, with relevant church ministry experience.
• A committed follower of Christ, actively growing spiritually and living according to biblical principles.
• Alignment with the beliefs, values, and vision of PMPGMBC.
• A genuine heart and passion for youth ministry.
• Must be fluent in English; proficiency in Cantonese is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversee the youth ministry (primarily English Speaking)
• Assist transition of Cantonese speaking youth to English speaking group.
• Collaborate with children’s and adult ministries to ensure a shared vision and continuity of care.
• Lead youth fellowship, Sunday School, retreats, youth worship, and other programs that encourage discipleship and spiritual growth.
• Plan and participate in outreach initiatives to engage youth outside the church.
• Develop curriculum and resources for youth ministry programs.
• Recruit, mentor, and equip youth leaders.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with youth and provide pastoral care and counseling.
• Establish and manage the annual youth ministry budget.
