Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dynamic Youth Mentor and Life Skills Coach to empower youth in Kimberley. The hybrid role blends in‑person mentoring with remote coaching and administrative duties to track progress and outcomes.

You will run engaging workshops on communication, problem solving and financial literacy, support goal setting, and collaborate with schools, parents and community partners to broaden youth opportunities.

Experience with adolescents and a passion for youth development are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth work, mentoring, coaching, or teaching.
• Ability to connect with and motivate adolescents.
• Strong facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one mentorship and guidance to young people.
• Facilitate workshops and group sessions on essential life skills (e.g., communication, problem-solving, financial literacy).
• Assist youth in setting personal, academic, and career goals.
• Develop and implement engaging activities and programs for youth engagement.
• Offer support and encouragement to help youth overcome challenges.
• Monitor youth progress and provide regular feedback to participants and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with schools, parents, and community organizations in Kimberley.
• Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions, activities, and outcomes.

• Act as a positive role model and advocate for youth development.

You will also conduct remote sessions and administrative tasks, coordinating activities and tracking progress. The objective is to equip youth with essential life skills, build their confidence, and help them set and achieve personal and educational goals. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents, a passion for youth development, and a creative approach to coaching. You must be adept at building rapport, motivating young individuals, and facilitating engaging workshops. Requirements

• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver engaging workshops and training sessions.
• Experience in program planning and coordination.
• Proficiency in basic administrative tasks and record-keeping.
• Comfort working in a hybrid model, balancing in-person and remote responsibilities.
• Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.
• Knowledge of local youth services and resources in Kimberley is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
