Job summary

The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre in Coquitlam, BC, part of the BC Public Service, is hiring seven permanent full-time Child Care Counsellors. The role provides assessment, care planning, treatment and community services for youth with complex mental health and behavioural needs in a 24/7 facility.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Diploma in a human services field with related experience, and a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work or other human services field; AND 6 months of related experience; OR
• Diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work or other human services field AND 2 years of related experience; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, care planning, treatment, discharge and community services for youth at Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre.
• Engage in administrative/daily care duties to support program objectives and interdisciplinary care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support youth and families.
