Job summary

Family Transition Place is seeking a Youth Educator to deliver classroom and group education, develop engaging activities, and collaborate with schools and community groups in Ontario. The role requires creating resources, researching strategies for healthy relationships, and providing referrals as needed.

The position is a one-year contract for 35 hours per week, with a wage of $25.93–$36.01 CAD per hour and wellness benefits.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education in the Social Services field or equivalent experience and specialized training in a closely related field
  • Knowledge of violence against women and children issues
  • An understanding of adolescent transitions with a focus on developmental / behavioural challenges
  • Experience working with children and youth in large group settings
  • Skills in managing challenging behaviours with a focus on positive reinforcement and constructive correction
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations and workshops to the general public and students
  • Skills in the use of a computer for facilitating educational programs, correspondence and report writing (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Access Database and Word)
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and independently
  • A second language would be an asset

YOUTH EDUCATOR

One Year contract, 35 hours per week

September 2026 – September 2027

Are you youth-oriented, energetic, creative, enthusiastic, computer-savvy and flexible? Can you wear the hats of a public speaker, team builder, multi-tasker, facilitator and developer of educational programs? Family Transition Place is recruiting another educator to work with our Youth Education team.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Facilitating educational programs to classrooms and small groups to help promote and build healthy relationships

Working Conditions:
  • Standing for periods of time facilitating program delivery
  • Repetitive lifting and carrying of equipment and supplies
  • Rural and urban driving conditions in all seasons
Hours of Work:
  • School based hours Monday to Friday with potential for evening or weekend work as needed
Compensation
  • $25.93 to $36.01 per hour
  • Wellness Spending Fund available
