Job summary

SOAR Community Services in Brantford, ON is seeking a Full Time Youth Mental Health Specialist to join the Crisis Outreach and Support Team (COAST). You will work with children, youth and families to provide crisis stabilization, assessments, and time-limited follow-up counselling using evidence-based approaches.

The role requires a college degree in Social Services, registration with the Ontario regulatory body, and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Have a college degree/diploma in a related Social Services field.
• Provide proof of current registration in good standing with a governing body such as College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario or The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers.
• Highlight clinical experience with addictions and mental health in resume.
• Knowledge of assessment and treatment planning, crisis intervention and case management.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach response to stabilize crisis situations.
• Provide assessment and treatment to high-risk youth in crisis, including clinical mental health intervention.
• Facilitate client transitions and connection to longer-term supports.
• Collaborate with crisis team, agency programs and external partners.
• Maintain a high standard of clinical documentation.
• Participate in youth-focused community committees and partnerships.
