Job summary

The Mason Group is assisting a hydro utility client seeking a hands-on Financial Analyst to join its finance team for a 3-month contract. This role focuses on year-end reconciliations, reporting, and data integrity.

The successful candidate will work independently, resolve issues quickly, and contribute with minimal onboarding, with a hybrid model including 3 days per week in Milton office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• CPA designation or in process is an asset.
• Proven experience in a Financial Analyst or similar finance role.
• Strong reconciliation experience within a finance environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex reconciliation and data issues.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Available to work in a hybrid model, including 3 days per week in the Milton office.
• Available to commit to a 3-month contract.
• Able to start quickly and contribute with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support the finance team with year-end preparation activities.
• Perform reconciliations accurately and efficiently across financial records.
• Analyse financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and issues requiring resolution.
• Assist with reporting to support accurate and timely year-end close preparation.
• Clear backlogs and help improve the integrity of financial data.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation and data-related issues.
• Work closely with the wider finance team while managing priorities independently.
