Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, ship and receive materials;
• Ensure pallets and loads are built correctly;
• Load and unload trucks;
• Unpackage, count and repackage to return to stock customer returns;
• Sort, tag and distribute incoming shipments;
• Report quality variances;
• Support inventory control with accurate documentation;
• Confirm inventory transactions are complete;
• Operate lifting devices (i.e. forklifts, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams and swivel hooks);
• Perform routine inspections on forklifts;
• Maintain an organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations;
• Participate in clean-up of yard and facility;
• Ensure all paperwork is completed to standard;
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a warehouse/shipping/yard environment;
• Previous forklift experience required, valid forklift certification preferred;
• High school diploma;
• Must possess a valid driver's license;
• Must be detail oriented and able to maintain high standards of accuracy;
• Knowledge of safe lifting and handling procedures;
• Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time;
• Ability to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds;
• Ability to perform all duties in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act;
• Ability to work independently;
• Ability to determine the correct tools and equipment needed to complete a task;
• Able to effectively communicate, follow and understand verbal and written directions.
