Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a shunt driver in Cornwall, ON to handle, move, load and unload materials. You will ensure timely processing of customer orders by arranging trailers in the yard and managing door operations and seals.

You will also maintain logs, follow SOPs, and uphold Health & Safety standards. The role requires operating various trailer types, coordinating with team members, and maintaining equipment and yard safety.

Qualifications

• Age 23 or older.
• Valid AZ / Class 1 Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Move and position trailers to designated areas.
• Open and close trailer doors; maintain daily yard check and shunt log; apply trailer seals as needed.
• Inspect trailers and keep the shunt truck in good working order.
• Follow yard rules, SOPs, and Health & Safety guidelines; maintain a clean environment.
• Suggest improvements to reduce hazards and prevent recurrences.
• Operate reefers and heated trailers; weigh yard trailers on the on-site truck scale.
• Build LCV and B-Train trailer combinations; move oversized trailers within the yard.
• Communicate with Team Leader and Desk Clerks about operations.
