Job summary

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, organizing, palletizing, and collaborating with drivers. Candidates should be comfortable outdoors year-round and able to pass pre-employment tests. Forklift certification is a strong asset.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction yard, warehouse, or similar industrial setting preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Forklift certification is a strong asset.
• Outdoor work year-round in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety, time management and communication.
• Must pass pre-employment Medical/Fitness and Drug and Alcohol Testing

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers or containers.
• Sort, organize and store equipment and tools.
• Clean and maintain the yard, including debris removal.
• Assist operators and mechanics with equipment prep and minor servicing.
• Operate basic machinery (e.g., skid steer, forklift) and follow safety procedures.
• Conduct daily inspections and report unsafe conditions or damaged materials.
• Coordinate shipments with drivers and receiving teams.
• Palletize and prepare orders for shipment.

Overview:

We’re looking for a dependable and safety-conscious Industrial Yard Labourer to join our North American Rail Products operations team. This role supports daily yard activities, equipment movement, and material handling to keep the job running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Load and unload construction materials and supplies from trucks, trailers, or containers.
• Sort, organize, and store equipment and tools in designated areas.
• Clean and maintain the yard, including sweeping, snow shoveling, and debris removal.
• Assist operators and mechanics in equipment prep and minor servicing.
• Operate basic machinery (e.g., skid steer, forklift) and follow proper safety procedures.
• Conduct daily inspections and report unsafe conditions or damaged materials.
• Collaborate with drivers and delivery crews to coordinate shipments and receiving.
• Palletizing and preparing orders for shipment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a construction yard, warehouse, or similar industrial setting preferred.
• Able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
• Basic tool and equipment knowledge; forklift certification is a strong asset.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety, time management, and communication.
