Job summary

RMC Group of Companies is seeking a Plant Yard Hand (Labourer) at the Rolling Mix Concrete West Plant in Edmonton. The role focuses on general labour, basic maintenance, and yard work at the plant facility, with night and day shifts possible and overtime as required.

Qualifications include a valid class 5 license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and basic mechanical skills. CSTS/WHMIS preferred. Benefits include vacation, health and RRSP contributions, and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Valid class 5 drivers license with clean driver's abstract.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for maintenance repairs.

• Must be able to be clean shaven (mask fit is required).

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

We are currently looking for a responsible, dependable, and safe Plant Yard Hand at the Rolling Mix Concrete West Plant. This position is primarily responsible for basic maintenance, support, and labour at the plant facility.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general labour throughout the plant.
• Perform basic maintenance on plant equipment.
• Assist Plant Manager with needed tasks and operations.
• Dump ice and other materials into concrete mixtures.
• General housekeeping and yard work.
• Operation of skid steers and other small equipment.
• Participate in and adhere to all safety protocols, polices, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Basic mechanical ability to perform maintenance repairs.

Hours of Work:

• This is a full time, permanent position.
• Shifts times vary based on production schedules, including early mornings, afternoons, and occasional night shifts. However, typical hours of work are 8-10 daily.
• Shifts may be scheduled Monday – Saturday.
• Overtime, evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts are required.
• An outdoor and indoor environment, working conditions will be subject to weather conditions.
• This position is physical in nature and requires bending, crawling, crouching, and standing for long periods of time.
• Materials are heavy and cumbersome, must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
