Job summary

Ocean Wise is seeking a Senior Specialist for the Whale Report Alert System (WRAS) to lead delivery, partnerships, and continuous improvement. You will guide collaboration with IT, researchers, and external partners to ensure WRAS remains robust, usable, and impactful for whale conservation.

The role emphasizes program governance, data analysis, and reporting to funders, with a focus on expanding adoption and conservation outcomes across government, Indigenous communities, and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Resource Management, or a related field.
• Strong program and project management experience.
• Excellent ability to communicate science and collaborate with diverse partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of the WRAS platform to meet conservation outcomes.
• Oversee WRAS portfolio delivery including timelines, budgets, and reporting.
• Develop annual work plans and priorities with leadership and adapt activities for impact.
• Chair the WRAS Advisory Committee and translate recommendations into improvements.
