Job summary

Ocean Wise Conservation Association seeks a Director, Fisheries & Seafood to lead the program's growth and impact across Canada. You will build trusted fisheries relationships, expand market access for responsible seafood, and collaborate with communications, philanthropy and market teams.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, set strategic direction, oversee budgets, and advance conservation outcomes while engaging Indigenous communities and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in fisheries or marine conservation with leadership experience.
• Experience building programs and partnerships.
• Experience working with First Nations/Indigenous communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic direction for Ocean Wise's Canadian Fisheries & Seafood program.
• Grow scale, reach, and impact through partnerships, funding, market engagement.
• Identify and engage Canadian fisheries and market partners for participation.
• Support participating fisheries through onboarding and continuous improvement.
• Develop measures, reporting frameworks and evaluation processes.
