Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Workshop Planning Supervisor to lead the development of workshop processes and manage resource allocation across Canada. You will coordinate with shop supervisors and departments to maximize efficient workflow in multiple facilities including Lively, Surrey, Val-d'Or and Miramichi.

The role requires proven planning and leadership experience in maintenance or workshop management, with strong skills in scheduling, and a willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in business, operations, or equivalent.
  • Proven track record in planning, maintenance, or workshop management; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to facilities across Canada.
  • Bilingual in French & English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the planning team to ensure efficient workflow and performance.
  • Review rebuild and new equipment scopes, supporting planners to meet work-in-progress targets.
  • Coordinate with Sales, ESS, and shop supervisors to maximize efficiency.
  • Oversee planner training and cross-training for skill development and flexibility.
  • Evaluate and optimize workshop schedules, ensuring timelines and labor budgets are met.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or services.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of schedules, tasks, equipment status and delays.
  • Address variances in plans vs. actual outcomes and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote health, safety and environmental compliance in the workshop.

Currently, we have an opening for a Workshop Planning Supervisor . In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of workshop processes, manage resource allocation, and coordinate with shop supervisors and other departments to maximize the efficient workflow through the shops across Canada.

Are you a skilled, detail-oriented leader with a knack for planning and supporting maintenance operations in a fast-paced workshop environment? This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a planning team, coordinate schedules, and contribute to the success of our workshops in Lively, Surrey, Val-d'Or and Miramichi.

What you will be doing
  • Lead and manage the planning team to ensure efficient workflow and performance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will bring along
  • Postsecondary education in business, operations or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in planning, maintenance, or workshop management; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Experience in mining, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment sector is considered an asset.
  • Expertise in workflow optimization and resource allocation in a workshop or industrial setting.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP systems and other relevant tools and software, such as Maximo.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to facilities located across Canada.
  • Bilingual in both French & English
