Job summary

Alstom in Saint-Bruno, QC seeks a Cost Controller to lead cost performance and industrial controlling of multi-million engineering projects. You will monitor costs, identify reductions, report overruns, and support budgeting and forecasting in a hybrid work setup.

The role interacts with operations, procurement and finance; requires university degree in Finance/Accounting, strong SAP experience, and fluency in French and English. 40-hour week, on-site at St-Bruno with some remote work.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• Experience in cost control within industrial/engineering projects.
• Strong communication skills in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Own and validate Tender BOM, Engineering and Manufacturing BOM financials to support EAC, savings, and variance analysis.
• Bridge budget, forecast, ROFO and actuals, line-by-line cost deviations; perform root-cause analysis.
• Partner with Project Procurement & Finance Managers to optimize material cost control.
• Monitor cost evolution, inflation, indexation and QCD deviations.
• Drive KPIs, cost reductions, tender support, and risk mitigation plans.
• Be the focal point for claims, material variances and SAP data integrity.
• Proactively manage cost-to-complete and cost gap closure.
