Job summary

Gestal in Mirabel, Quebec is seeking a Work and Materials Planner to join the A220 program's Materials and Work Planning team. You will help set up daily production plans, coordinate with production and suppliers, and ensure timely parts delivery to the line.

You will work cross-functionally with Logistics, Methods, Engineering, and Quality, drive lean material flows, and contribute to inventory improvements while advancing your skills in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics or industrial engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of logistics or production planning experience.
  • Automotive or aerospace industry experience is an asset.
  • Strong interest in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Bilingual French and English is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive lean, reliable material flows from the receiving dock to the point of use.
  • Implement inventory management as part of an overall working capital improvement strategy.
  • Establish a shop floor load plan for the unpaced production section.
  • Develop solutions to align supply and demand to meet inventory objectives.
  • Define and document material handling equipment needs from loading dock to workstation.
  • Collaborate with Logistics-Procurement, Methods, Plant/Infrastructure Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects (Excellence Research System, 5S, lean manufacturing, cost reduction, optimization).

You have experience in operations and/or logistics, you have worked in aeronautics or a similar manufacturing field and you want to evolve and develop new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for work and material planners to join our Materials and Work Planning (MWP) team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will put your skills to work by being at the heart of the Final Assembly Line (FAL) operations.

You will be part of the Work and Materials Planning team responsible for setting up daily production plans, carrying out follow-ups with the various teams (production and suppliers) and ensuring delivery of parts to the line at the right time.

The team organization is established in such a way as to promote cross-functional collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as a work and materials planner will be to rally the cross-functional team around a common plan by prioritizing and coordinating the various works and parts delivery.

Your challenges:
  • Define and drive lean and reliable material flows, from the receiving dock to the point of use, in close collaboration with the Logistics-Procurement function;
  • Define and implement inventory management as part of an overall working capital improvement strategy;
  • Establish a shop floor load plan for the unpaced production section;
  • Develop solutions to align supply and demand to achieve the objectives of the inventory management strategy;
  • Define and document material handling equipment needs, from the loading dock to the workstation;
  • Define and document kitting processes for production;
  • Collaborate with various multidisciplinary teams (Logistics-Procurement, Methods, Plant/Infrastructure Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality);
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects (Excellence Research System, 5S, lean manufacturing, cost reduction, manufacturing optimization, etc.).
Your profile:
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in logistics or industrial engineering, operations and logistics management, or a college diploma with equivalent experience;
  • You have two to five years of relevant experience in logistics or production planning;
  • You have relevant experience in the automotive or aerospace industry (an asset);
  • You have a strong interest in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles;
  • You have a good understanding of written and spoken French and English (an asset);
  • You have an ease in using the Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project);
  • You have an ease in using Google Suite (Files, Docs, Slides);
  • You hold work experience with SAP (an asset);
