Job summary

FLOFORM Countertops Abbotsford is seeking a Full Time Material Handler for our Stone Plant. This role handles shipping, receiving, loading, transporting, inspecting and packaging stone tops and slabs, using forklifts and lifts while keeping a safe, organized yard and shop.

You will work with a team, follow supervisor schedules, and ensure accurate inventory and order processing. Benefits include medical and dental, RRSP matching, and competitive pay.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tops and slabs, read drawings for quality and specs.
• Load and package countertops onto shipping frames with protection.
• Receive inbound slabs, ensure accurate transactions and labeling.
• Move materials through yard and shop, maintaining inventory.
• Use computer systems to update orders and track inventory.
• Coordinate shipments with carriers and determine trucking requirements.
• Inspect and maintain forklifts and handling equipment.
• Follow supervisor's instructions and daily schedule.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required immediately, our Local Abbotsford Branch is seeking a Full Time Material Handler for our Stone Plant.

Position Summary:

Material Handlers in our Stone Division are responsible for a variety of tasks related to hard surface manufacturing, including shipping, receiving, loading, transporting, inspecting and packaging stone tops and slabs. The position requires the safe and efficient use of mechanical lifts and forklifts, often moving materials through a busy yard and shop environment. Maintaining safe working areas and an organized yard is a critical requirement in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inspects tops and slabs, interpreting technical drawings for required quality and specifications
• Loading and packaging countertops onto shipping frames, ensuring proper protection and accurate piece counts
• Receives inbound raw materials (slabs), ensuring accurate receiving transactions and inventory labelling
• Transports materials through busy shop and yard environment, ensuring proper inventory storage
• Utilizes computer systems to update order status and inventory transactions, locate job information and mark progress
• Coordinates shipments with carriers, planning shipment sizes and trucking requirements
• Inspects and maintains forklifts and material handling equipment in safe and good working condition, including daily pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance items
• Executes daily work instructions and follows schedule received from Supervisor in a timely manner
• Maintains a safe and organized work area, supporting housekeeping requirements
• Other duties as assigned
