Responsibilities

• Sets up woodworking machines and wood stock for correct cutting, planning, turning, shaping and sanding.
• Operates machines to cut, plane, turn, shape and sand work pieces.
• Applies varnish, shellac, lacquer, stains and paint to surfaces.

Due to company growth an exciting opportunity has become available for a committed, proactive and qualified Wood Machinist to join their team.

About You :

• Trade Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Wood Machining
• Previous experience working with CNC Routers
• Previous experience working with 4 or 5 Sided Moulders
• Experience with Band saws and edge-matching machines
• Ability to Tool change and Machine set-up
• Be Physically fit
• Motivated, reliable and hard working

Duties and Responsibilities will include :

• Sets up woodworking machines and wood stock for correct cutting, planning, turning, shaping and sanding
• Operates machines to cut, plane, turn, shape and sand work pieces
• Removes old finishes by stripping with steel wool and glasspaper, and by applying solvents and paint strippers, and removing softened finishes by scraping
• Applying varnish, shellac, lacquer, stains and paint to surfaces and polishing and waxing finished surfaces
• Fitting and fastening frame pieces
• Mounting backing materials and subjects for framing

Work hours : Monday to Friday 7 : 00am - 3 : 20pm - Overtime available
