Job summary

RBC Capital Markets offers a 16-week co-op internship for energetic undergraduates and graduates. The program lets you gain hands-on experience on a fast-paced trading floor in Toronto, working with seasoned market professionals.

You will research, prepare morning notes, analyze trading data, and support the Corporate Access team while completing diverse research projects. Strong academics, interest in capital markets, and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a minimum of first year of a business/economics/finance or related degree.
• Basic market knowledge and a demonstrated keen interest in capital markets.
• Strong research abilities and excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Motivation to identify opportunities to add value and improve practices.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in high pressure environments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Office hours tied to global markets: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Research news sources to develop consolidated reports and information.
• Create morning notes, mid-day updates, energy/mining notes and market close notes.
• Analyze trading volumes and internal research to document activity.
• Support Corporate Access data, events and related marketing tasks.
• Complete various research projects including investment ideas and industry analysis.
• Liaise with Equity Sales Professionals and Traders for assignments.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency.
