Job summary

City of Kingston is seeking a Driver Labourer for Winter Control to support snow removal and related operations. The position requires operating plow trucks and sidewalk plows, performing general labour, and maintaining equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Applicants should have a High School diploma, 2 winter seasons of heavy equipment experience, and a valid DZ license. On-site work in Kingston, with opportunities during peak periods and substantial seasonal duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years experience driving/heavy construction equipment; include 2 full winter seasons plowing, salting or sanding.
• Must possess and maintain a valid DZ License with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
• Knowledge of Public Works activities and safe equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate winter control vehicles: plow/salt/sand operations on roads and sidewalks.
• Perform general labour tasks and equipment maintenance; report malfunctions.
• Work safely, efficiently and as part of a team.
• Handle large item pickup and roadside refuse duties.
• Complete pre-trip inspections and adhere to safety protocols.
