Job summary

Manulife John Hancock is offering a Global Risk Intelligence and Technology Winter Co-op designed to give students hands-on experience in analytics, AI, automation, and risk intelligence. Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Data Science, CS, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Interest in AI, ML, data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies.
• Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or similar languages used for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with data preparation, cleaning, and analysis.
• Experience using Power BI or similar dashboarding and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Support the automation of monthly reporting within the risk and intelligence function.
• Assist in the delivery of machine learning, LLM, and other analytics initiatives across GRIT.
• Drive process improvements across data collection, analysis, and dashboard development to generate actionable insights.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies.
• Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages used for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with data preparation, cleaning, and analysis.
• Experience using Power BI or similar dashboarding and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, ask thoughtful questions, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Salary Range is Expected to be Between: $46,800.00 CAD - $62,400.00 CAD The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. The annual salary will be pro-rated based on the length of the work term.
