Job summary

MNP in Campbell River, BC, is seeking an Intern or Co-op Student for Winter 2028 in Assurance and Accounting. The role offers hands-on experience with compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax within a supportive, entrepreneurial culture.

You will develop knowledge of IFRS/GAAP/ASPE, set up client files, assist with accounts payable/receivable, payroll walkthroughs and prepare financial reports, while building client relationships and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration with accounting/finance focus.
• Working toward prerequisites for CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and ASPE.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files.
• Perform AR, AP, capital asset activities and payroll walkthroughs with clients.
• Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements and other reports.
• Review discrepancies in financial entries and documents.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare client summaries and engagement findings.
• Collaborate with client teams and travel as needed.
