Job summary

Iconic Wineries of British Columbia seeks a Winery Process Engineer to shape future winemaking operations, from design to hands-on implementation of a state-of-the-art facility.

You will optimize production, apply Lean/Six Sigma, and build dashboards with Power BI/SCADA while ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and end-to-end process excellence.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Food, or Fermentation Science or related discipline.
  • Strong foundation in process optimization and manufacturing systems.
  • 3–7+ years in winery, beverage, food processing, or CPG manufacturing; fermentation experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with process engineering: fluid dynamics, heat transfer, fermentation, filtration, and bottling.
  • Experience driving Lean/Six Sigma improvements and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with production data analysis and KPI dashboards (Excel, Power BI, SCADA).
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset focused on designing innovative production systems.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and OPEx in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, benchmark, and optimize end-to-end production workflows from grape intake through bottling to improve throughput, yield, quality, and efficiency.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to identify improvements, reduce waste, and streamline processes.
  • Evaluate bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance capacity, consistency, and resource utilization.
  • Provide technical analysis to improve harvest, cellar operations, and production planning; develop SOPs.
  • Develop standardized operating procedures to improve consistency and reliability.
  • Develop production dashboards and KPI reporting tools using Power BI, Excel, and SCADA; track key metrics.
