Mission:

Independently perform complex operational tasks in his/herunit/department, in keeping with the instructions provided by his/hersupervisor, in order to satisfy the sites needs.

Job Description

• Perform assembly,commissioning, testing, repair and maintenance on wind turbinegenerators and related equipment at wind farm
• Conduct andreview safety analyses of potential electrical and mechanical hazardsin the wind turbines, switch room, and the O&M building
• Support Root Cause Analyses to assist in determiningequipment failure and the reasons for failures when they occur
• Complete required and accurate documentation associated withcorrective and preventive maintenance of wind turbines and associatedequipment; maintain records of documentation
• Troubleshoot,adjust, repair, and/or retrofit low to medium voltage electrical,mechanical or hydraulic components and equipment associated with windturbines and the wind farm
• Perform preventative maintenanceactivities in a safe and efficient manner on wind turbines andassociated equipment located on the wind farm
• Utilizeappropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control ordissipation of energy sources to ensure work is performed in safemanner
• Conduct safety analysis and review of hazards andenergy sources prior to and while performing any work assignment onthe wind farm
• Properly maintain tools and equipment used toperform assigned maintenance assignments
• Maintain requiredtraining certifications and qualifications as to enable personnel tosafely perform work related tasks in a quality matter
• Otherresponsibilities as assigned

Required Skills and Competencies

• High school education or equivalent, college degree a plus
• Ability to travel to domestic and international locations forwork and/or training for extended periods of time
• Flexibilityto work overtime and rotating shifts as required
• Previousexperience working with hand and power tools
• Able to workindependently in a fast paced team environment
• Ability tomove and manipulate up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders and workat heights of 100 meters
• Ability to work in both indoor andoutdoor environments, and in adverse and extreme weather conditions,and in confined spaces
• Ability to be certified and work withboth medium and high voltage equipment
• Maintain requiredtraining certifications
• Valid driver's license andsatisfactory driving record
• Ability to safely travel to thewind farm within 45 minutes in the event of an emergency
• Ability to obtain a valid Passport
• BilingualEnglish/French is a must.

Ourtechnicians are provided with the necessary tools and personalprotective equipment (PPE) to perform their duties safely andefficiently, along with a uniform allowance. Technicians also receiveGWO training and certifications to ensure compliance with industrystandards. Additionally, all our turbines are equipped with lifts toassist with elevated tasks.
